U.S. EPA renewable standard targets are proposed
TABJ - June 22 - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has announced proposed standards for four categories of renewable energy targets under its RFS2 Renewable Fuels Standards for 2012.
The categories and suggested standards read as follows:
Biomass-based diesel (1.0 billion gallons; 0.91 per cent)
Advanced biofuels (2.0 billion gallons; 1.21 per cent)
Cellulosic biofuels (3.45 - 12.9 million gallons; 0.002 – 0.010 per cent)
Total renewable fuels (15.2 billion gallons; 9.21 per cent)
Plans also include a proposed requisite volume of 1.28 billion gallons for biomass-based diesel for 2013.
