Guangxi miners trapped deep down, weekend figures worry onlookers
TABJ - July 4 - Latest reports state that the trapped Chinese miners, in Guangxi Heshan Coal Mining Company’s mine in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, now total 19.
Three have been confirmed dead, with the remaining 19 at large more than 990 feet underground following the mine collapse. The 40-strong rescue team was forced to cease attempts, early Monday, due to fears about toxic gas. This has since been dealt with and efforts have resumed.
Guangxi’s Communist party chief has demanded a national review of all mining operations after early reports state that the collapse may have been caused by heavy rain.
