Gabon to host African environment ministers
TABJ Sep 1 - Gabon is set to host the first African conference on biodiversity this month.
"'Biodiversity and the fight against poverty: Opportunities for Africa" will be attended by environment ministers from across Africa and other stakeholders, discussing and formulating a common African position ahead of the United Nations biodiversity conference in New York.
The meeting is being organized by the Government of Gabon in partnership with the United Nations Secretariat for the Convention on Biological Diversity and the International Union for Conservation of Nature with support from the African Union Commission, African Ministerial Conference on the Environment, the United Nations Environment Program and the Economic Commission for Africa.
