Impact of Nigerian Oil Must Be Greater on Citizens
TABJ – The impact of Nigeria's oil and gas industry on everyday citizens is about to take a giant leap forward if discussions at the recently concluded Bayelsa State Investment & Economic Forum have any merit whatsoever.
Nigeria’s gas-to-power industry has repeatedly been singled out as a key to ongoing power reforms and plans to commercialise the sector by bringing a more capital intensive sector to the reach of the ordinary Nigerian.
Another herculean roadblock that must be removed is that of transportation. Movement of oil products across Nigeria has continued to be a challenge as many commuters especially in Lagos state, where frustrating traffic gridlock has created many slowdowns for petroleum tankers waiting to load fuel.
