Vulkan Air Ltd has been taking to the skies since 1997, and has been operating in all circles of the aviation industry ever since. The company’s expertise runs the gamut and covers the range of managerial, operation and administrative duties for a full functioning air service business.
Vulkan Air focuses on cargo charters, movement of specialised and dangerous cargo, aircraft leasing (including structuring of finance arrangement, purchasing of aircraft and flight logistics support). The company has a large presence with multiple operations spanning the whole of the African continent, and is prominent in European, Middle East and Asian aviation markets as well.
It is the Vulkan Air cargo business that has garnered the company a respected and recognized reputation in the aviation market. The company has held fast to its commitment to operating an extremely efficient cargo charter business that prioritized the customer and providing exemplary service. Vulkan Air offers its clients an exhaustive fleet of cargo aircraft and special customized services tailored to their preferences. Vulkan air credits the “high expertise and problem-solving ability of our managers, crew and engineers...ensure a smooth and delay-free operation throughout.”
Experience and expertise have proven themselves in a number of international projects in Mozambique, Nepal, Afghanistan and Mali, for example, and are also proud logistical supporters of UN projects in the DRC, Uganda and Sudan.
The extensive Vulkan fleet consists of a variety of cargo aircraft available for charter. The IL-76, for example, is a rear loading ramp which is ideal for oversize and bulky cargo. It is known for its ability to operate from airfields with rough or unpaved runways, and can be found in widespread commercial use as a heavy freighter. For medium-range transportation, Vulkan offers the AN-12, which boast “unfailing reliability” in the most challenging conditions. The AN-12 is sought after by commercial air operators and even Air Forces around the world for its performance on hot and high mountainous airfields and marginal runways. Clients can also choose to use the AN-26, which needs a minimum of ground support, the L-1011, which is used for transatlantic or long haul flights, or the AN-32, whose manoeuvrability is ideal for marginal airfields.
Vulkan Air has become leaders by the offering value-added logistic support. This enables clients a complete aviation experience, one where out-sourcing for fuelling, diplomatic permissions, airport slots and information on flight plan preparation and filing is taken.
Vulkan Air has carved out a niche for itself as accredited and accomplished movers of dangerous cargo. Dangerous cargo includes, but is not limited to material that is flammable, explosive, poisonous, toxic or radioactive. In line with difficult and unique cargo, Vulkan Air are also the go-to source for the moving of live stock, vehicles, perishables, ship spares and any oversize or bulk cargo.
